It will be an action packed season finale this weekend with the GT3 Asia and the GT4 Asia Cup held at the panoramic Autopolis International Circuit. It will be the first time race fans will be able to witness the two Series running together as a combined race, giving bigger grids and adding to the excitement.
It will also be the first time the newly introduced series, GT4 Asia Cup, pays a visit to Autopolis, and after the devastating typhoon that caused the event at Fuji circuit to be cancelled, it will also be the first Japanese race for the GT4 Asia Cup Series.

It was announced late last night that the GT3 Asia Round 7 and GT4 Asia Cup Round 5, scheduled to be held at the Fuji Speedway Circuit this weekend, has been cancelled. This is due to the serious damage in the locality of the Town of Oyama caused by Typhoon No. 9.
The effects of the typhoon include mudslides and other damage within the grounds of Fuji Speedway. Although reconstruction work is under way, there has also been severe damage to roads, including vital circuit access roads, in the vicinity of the Speedway.
“It is an unfortunate turn of events, especially since there was a high level of anticipation from all quarters leading up to this event. The typhoon caused some roads to collapse, including the access roads to the circuit, making the drive to the circuit quite dangerous among other hazards” said Motorsport Asia CEO, David Sonenscher.
The GT Association made their announcement last night that they are cancelling Round 7 of the Super GT Series citing in their press statement, ‘It has become evident that attempting to hold the race as scheduled under such conditions would not only be an imposition on the spectators attempting to come to the race but could also seriously hinder the work of the local authorities and citizens to recover quickly from the typhoon damage. For this reason there has also been a request from the Oyama Town authorities to cancel the race.’
Further announcements on the GT3 Asia and the GT4 Asia Cup will be made soon.
