Motorsport Asia has today announced the exciting GT Asia Series for 2011. The GT Asia Series combines GT3 Asia with the GT4 Asia Cup into one outstanding Championship, whilst making changes to the regulations to incorporate some of the best features from each Series.

The past 4 days have been kind to the cars, souls and body -- if one forgets the hard work and workload drivers and teams had to accomplish under hot and humid weather conditions. Indeed it was refreshing to see how all the teams helped each other when needed and the atmosphere in the pits was so up beat and crackling full of anticipation towards the new 2011 season.

Thai driver, Pasin Lathouras, has joined 2010 championship winning team, Eurasia Motorsport, for this year's JK Racing Asia Series. The seventeen year old karting champion impressed the team with his performance during testing in January at the Sepang F1 Circuit. The team's testing campaign continues in February to choose his team mates for the season.

Eurasia Motorsport's Formula Pacific testing campaign continues in February at the Sepang F1 Circuit. All six of their cars will be used at the two three day tests demonstrating why there is much optimism that the new JK Racing Asia Series will feature a large starting grid, no surprise as it's the only credible International Formula Series in the region.

Testing will continue into March with February 28th to March 3rd followed by March 7th to the 9th. There will then be a three week gap prior to the first event in April. Meritus Racing, IM Racing, Atlantic Racing Team, Eurasia Motorsport, Petronas Mofaz Racing and E-Rain Racing were all at Sepang International Circuit for a three day test that ended Wednesday, 9th February.
