Last season regular Sasha Chu will be back in the GT Asia Series with Asia Racing Team. The Hong Kong “gentleman driver” will be teaming up with his fellow countrymen Keith Chan in the third event of the season at the Fuji International Speedway. They will share driving duties in the #11 Pioneer Absolute Porsche 911 GT3 R.
Chu and Chan are not newcomers in the team. Chu, who finished 7th in the 2011 GT Asia Series, competed for Asia Racing Team last year, and Chan, who raced in the GTM class, was one of the first participants of Asia Racing Team’s Formula Renault One-Day Intensive Course in Zhuhai circuit back in 2008.

The pair tested the car at Sepang in June and was pleased with the results.

Looking ahead to the remaining 2012 races Team Manager Philippe Descombes, commented, “Sasha has been part of our GT squad from the start so it is good to have him back in the team. 2011 was a good learning curve for him and for the Japan races he will line up with one of the most promising drivers in GTM class last year.

“It will be the first time that Keith races with us but his testing lap times were very competitive, he gave us good feedback and he was well under control the whole time.”

After four thrilling races, the GT Asia Series will be back in action at the Fuji International Speedway from July 14-15 as part of a Formula Nippon weekend.
