DRIVER UPDATE : PCCA : Darryl O’Young

Despite starting from overall P15 and P16 in his two races in Morocco, Team STR driver Darryl O'Young managed to overtake a few cars to record a respectable overall P10 finish in both races on the Marrakech street circuit, taking home another nine points to push his season tally to 14.

However, had O’Young not been involved in an opening lap race incident, he would be able to achieve better results. The ace race driver pinpoints what he needs to do better in the future.

"I am satisfied with the races as two top 10’s are good from where we started, but we need to improve our qualifying in order to earn better results in the future," said the SEAT Leon WTCC driver.

O’Young’s independent P4 finish in Morroco's race two not only equals his best result this season, the Hong Kong’s best driver also pulled off some impressive performance by recording his personal fastest lap in the final lap of the race when tyres are usually worn out.

The 2012 World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) season will now take a two-week break before it resumes late April in Slovakia, where the Eastern European country will be making its WTCC debut. But there will be no break for O'Young, as the 32-year-old Canadian born race driver will head to Belgium for the second round of the FIA GT1 World Championship.

Sponsors LKM and A-Ha Coffee are the major forces behind Darryl’s pursuit of success in the 2012 FIM World Touring Car Championship.
